Smooth Melodies

Smooth Melodies is a digital surrealist ode to music. A woman plays her cello at the heart of a swirling symphony, wrapped in translucent veils of amber and violet while musical notes and treble clefs drift through the air around her. A dancer moves in silhouette to the right, a lone walker crosses to the left — everyone in the piece is hearing the same song differently. The work is about how music wraps around a life: invisible, everywhere, smoothing the rough edges of everything it touches. I create my artwork using different apps on my phone, layering sound into color until the melody feels visible.
