The Hole in the Bottom of the Sea

The Hole in the Bottom of the Sea is a digital surrealist voyage to the strangest shore imaginable. Giant lips part to form a crimson harbor, watched over by a great weeping eye, while flamingos — one tangled in golden rings — wade beside a woman on stilts in a vintage dress. Two bowler-hatted gentlemen stand at the waterline taking it all in, fish in jaunty hats chat nearby, and overhead a hand holds a tiny dripping Earth. The piece is about the bottom of things: the deeper you go, the stranger and more wonderful it gets. I create my artwork using different apps on my phone, diving layer by layer until the sea floor feels like a carnival.
